About us ▾

Boundless journeys.

Vimac Travel and Tours was built on a simple belief: the road should feel as considered as the destination. For over a decade we have moved travelers, families, and teams across coastlines, highlands, and capital cities — with the same patient attention to comfort, safety, and timing.

We are a team of drivers, planners, and hosts who treat every itinerary as a personal invitation. From a single airport pickup to a multi-country safari, our promise stays the same: thoughtful service, immaculate vehicles, and people who genuinely care that you arrive well.

Ruaha National Park
01 // Wild South · Lions

Ruaha National Park

Tanzania's largest national park and one of Africa's last great lion strongholds. Vast prides patrol the banks of the Great Ruaha River alongside elephants, leopards, wild dogs, and herds of buffalo — all under towering baobabs in a landscape that still feels genuinely untamed.

Serengeti
02 // Plains · The Migration

Serengeti

The endless plains. Home to the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebra thunder across golden grasslands trailed by lions, cheetahs, and circling vultures. Few places on earth feel this elemental — sky, grass, and movement, all at scale.

Ngorongoro Crater
03 // Caldera · Big Five

Ngorongoro Crater

A collapsed volcano whose two-thousand-foot walls cradle one of the densest concentrations of wildlife on the continent. Descend at dawn through cloud-wrapped highlands into a self-contained world of lakes, forests, and the elusive black rhino.

Mikumi National Park
04 // Savannah · Wildlife

Mikumi National Park

Tanzania's fourth-largest park spreads across the Mkata floodplain, where lion prides, elephants, and giraffes graze beneath the silhouette of the Uluguru mountains. An accessible day-route from Dar es Salaam, Mikumi rewards travelers with cinematic horizons and unhurried game drives.

Tarangire National Park
05 // Baobabs · Elephants

Tarangire National Park

A landscape sculpted by giants. Tarangire's iconic baobab trees stand watch over some of the largest elephant herds in northern Tanzania, drawn here by the life-giving Tarangire River that winds through dusty, golden plains.

Udzungwa Mountains
06 // Rainforest · Trails

Udzungwa Mountains

An ancient, mist-laced forest known as the African Galápagos for its rare endemic species. Hike beneath towering canopies to Sanje Falls, where the cool spray cuts through tropical heat and the silence is broken only by colobus monkeys overhead.

Lushoto · Soni Falls
07 // Usambara Highlands

Lushoto · Soni Falls

A cool, green retreat in the West Usambara mountains where colonial-era stone houses and Eden-like cloud forests meet. The Soni Falls cascade through moss-draped rock as villagers tend terraced farms on the surrounding slopes.

Tanga Coast
08 // Indian Ocean · Swahili Heritage

Tanga Coast

Turquoise water, traditional dhows, and a centuries-old Swahili port still moving to its own rhythm. Tanga blends sleepy beaches, the historic Amboni Caves, and Pangani's coconut-lined coastline — the ocean side of every Tanzanian journey.

Kimondo cha Mbozi
09 // Songwe Region · World's 4th Largest Meteorite

Kimondo cha Mbozi

The Mbozi Meteorite — Kimondo cha Mbozi — is the world's fourth largest, resting on the southwestern slope of Marengi Hill in Songwe Region, 70 km west of Mbeya off the road to Tunduma. Roughly 3 m long, 1 m tall and weighing about 25 metric tons, it is composed of around 90% iron with 8% nickel and traces of phosphorus. Its dark, burnished surface comes from the heat of atmospheric entry thousands of years ago — there is no surviving crater and no local legend of its fall. Known to locals for centuries but only reported by outsiders in 1930, it was declared a protected national monument in 1967 and remains the most popular attraction in Songwe. A visit is best done with a group by public transport — the slow road through the southern highlands and the easy welcome of villagers along the way are half of the adventure.
